At its 2008 Annual Meeting, the U.S. Conference of Mayors (USCM) unanimously adopted a resolution put forward by Mayors for Peace entitled "Support for the Elimination of All Nuclear Weapons by the Year 2020."At its 2008 Annual Meeting, the U.S. Conference of Mayors (USCM) unanimously adopted a resolution put forward by Mayors for Peace entitled "Support for the Elimination of All Nuclear Weapons by the Year 2020." The resolution calls on the U.S. government to support the "Hiroshima-Nagasaki Protocol," a framework agreement for elimination of nuclear weapons by the year 2020. U.S. mayors and local elected officials are encouraged to sign the "Cities Appeal" in support of the Hiroshima-Nagasaki Protocol here.
