U.S. Conference of Mayors Resolution

The annual U.S. Conference of Mayors was held in Los Angeles on June 22-26, 2007. A Bring Home the Troops resolution introduced by Mayor David N. Cicilline of Providence passed by a vote of 51-47. The following mayors co-sponsored the resolution:

States with Peace Resolutions

The following information is provided by Progressive States:
The escalation of the Iraq War this spring led to 30 states introducing resolutions or sending letters to Congress condemning the escalation and the resulting strains on local National Guard readiness. In 17 states at least one chamber approved a resolution or legislators signed onto a letter condemning the escalation.
